Biography
Karen Alphonse
Vice-President
A graduate of Harvard and Columbia colleges, Karen works closely to match mission-driven organizations with sophisticated leadership talent. She has worked primarily with educational, health, religious, social outreach and advocacy organizations to identify outstanding leaders for their consideration.
A litigation attorney by training, Karen began her career working with top-tier law firms in the North East. As a law student, she distinguished herself as a public interest advocate and scholar. This interest remained strong and, as she explored options in the public sector, a series of lucky meetings lead Karen to Isaacson Miller, the national non-profit recruiting firm in Boston. As Senior Associate, Karen worked exclusively with public-minded advocacy organizations across a range of disciplines. Whether the assignment was to find new leadership for a science research institution, an education network, think-tank or legal services community network, Karen has always been quick to locate exceptional talent.
Karen believes that her efforts will directly enhance the next generation of community service leaders. Because the non-profit sector contributes directly to the overall quality of national life, finding talented leadership for mission-driven organizations is, for Karen, both personally and professionally fulfilling.
