F. Jay Hall

Founder and President

F. Jay Hall is passionate about his work with not-for-profit organizations, and has a vision for how his seven year old company can contribute to the mission of non-profits.

Jay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Purdue University on an Air Force scholarship and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri - Columbia. This educational background, and subsequent employment, established his commitment to the non-profit sector and the solutions that execSearches.com provides today.

Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Jay began a career in higher education administration at the University of Missouri and later at the University of Massachusetts. In these roles, he recognized the importance of civic infrastructure as the glue that holds society together. While in higher education, Jay gained expertise in mediation and in personality typing and matching; these skills form part of the dynamic that makes execSearches.com a leader in non-profit recruiting.

After working in higher education for five years, Jay joined Isaacson Miller, an executive search firm dedicated to finding exceptional leaders for mission-driven organizations. At Isaacson Miller, Jay helped major non-profit organizations find the executive and fund-raising talent they needed to accomplish their mission. Asking himself how to help smaller organizations without the budget for traditional search, the seeds of execSearches.com were sown. Jay pioneered the use of Internet techniques and strategies for recruiting talent in the sector.

Today

A non-profit of any size can post a position for the price of a local help-wanted ad. As Jay would say: "Small, local organizations do a lot of good for the communities they serve, whether preserving natural resources in North Carolina or fighting poverty in Tajikistan."
